Honours

The Shamrocks however broke the famine on the 26 of September in Casement Park Belfast against Cushendall on a scoreline of 1-09 to 0-11 in front of a delirious support of red and white. After many years of anxiety, anguish and despair came the relief and joy of a final victory at the hands of their tormenters to take the tally of Championships to 16, one behind Ballycastle. After that came 2011 when looking defeated and out on their feet, they came back from four points down with 13 minutes to go to win by a goal. The scenes of joy within the field of dreams were up there with 2010. This now moves Loughgiel Shamrocks up to 17 Senior Championship titles and is their first year to win back to back titles since 1971.
